Kelly Thomas, Co-Owner and Broker, is a native of Carroll County, Virginia. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s Degree in Property Management and has minors in both Real Estate and Communication Studies and also earning the professional designation of Residential Property Manager (RPM) from the National Apartment Association.

Upon moving to the back to the mountains of Virginia in 2007, Kelly worked as licensed appraisal trainee, earning over 2,000 hours of experience in the appraisal field and REALTOR for 3 years before partnering with long time friend, Derek Wall, to form Thomas & Wall Real Estate in 2010. Since then, Kelly and Derek have continued to build upon their foundation of honesty and integrity, growing the firm to over 14 trusted and experienced agents, also managing a portfolio of more than 40 single family residential properties. Kelly is a firm believer that success is not measured with a dollar sign, but with a track record of meeting her client’s needs and supporting others in their real estate goals.

Kelly, her husband, and two daughters reside in Floyd County, Virginia. Kelly’s hobbies include portrait and drone photography and watching her favorite TV show Finding Your Roots on PBS.

Before obtaining her real estate salesperson license in 2005, Kelly managed commercial properties for the federal government and private sector in the southeastern U.S. For over 3 years, Kelly’s portfolio covered 11 states and over one million square feet. The commercial spaces managed ranged from Class A office at every facility to custom warehouse space, airport hangars, and specialized computer and detention facilities. A partial list of the General Services Administration (GSA) tenants included Department of Homeland Security, Social Security Administration, US Department of Justice, US Attorneys, National Archives and Records Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Land Management, US Marshall and US Coast Guard. Private sector high end office and warehouse tenants included Krispy Kreme, Bell Davis & Pitt, and Dixon and Hughes.

Originally from Southwest Virginia, I grew up exploring Carroll, Floyd, and Patrick Counties, along with most every nook and cranny in between, giving me the knowledge and understanding of the region needed to best assist my real estate clients. I attended Ferrum College and later graduated from Virginia Tech. After moving away for a few years to work in hospitality and hotel management, I eventually returned home to Southwest Virginia and began my career in real estate. With a background in hospitality, I view customer service as a way of life. In 2011, Kelly Thomas and I started Thomas and Wall Real Estate. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service for our clients and give them the tools they need to buy or sell property anywhere in the region. Lucy comes from a multi-generational family of Realtors/Appraisers and brings a lifetime of experience in Real Estate valuation & transfer process assistance to her clients. Her main focus is helping her clients to navigate the process of buying & selling Real Estate in the form of raw land, farms, waterfront, and residential properties in the mountains of Floyd County Virginia and surrounding areas. In addition to her wealth of experience in real estate, Lucy has worked in large animal veterinary medicine, possesses a Biology degree from Virginia Tech with a minor in Chemistry, and has a lengthy background in wellness through her previous profession as a massage therapist & yoga teacher. Her husband is a local business owner here in Floyd in the field of home construction which gives Lucy an inside perspective on what any new residents to the area may need to consider when choosing between existing or new construction. She has a well-rounded understanding of local building materials & resources, a knack for spotting potentially troublesome design aspects in existing buildings, and a growing understanding of “Green” building possibilities & energy sources such as Solar, Wind, & Hydro-power.

Daniel has lived in Floyd for 23 years and has an extensive background in farming and the building construction industries. After graduating with a degree in finance and accounting, Craig worked in the energy industry for over 25 years. He held positions in audit, accounting, regulatory affairs, government relations, operations and business development. He made a career change in 2014 and moved to Floyd after taking on the role of director of operations and controller for Chateau Morrisette. Craig formed Trinity Contracting LLC and joined Thomas & Wall Real Estate in 2019. Craig has been a board member of the Floyd Chamber of Commerce since 2017 and is the Chamber President in 2020. He and his wife Renate built their new home outside of Willis. They have two children that reside in Texas.
